Happy Birthday Olivia! 6 years!! WOW!!
For Olivia's Birthday.... dad bought and brought her a Cinnamon Roll to start her morning off right. She then was taken to a salon (BEAU-TEA!) for a tea party including her nails and hair done followed by a lunch date with mom and dad. She then was able to pick an outfit for her bear at Build-A-Bear. The rest of the day Olivia played with friends ending with a Yummy red velvet Bundt cake. We love you OLIVIA!!

This is so funny I had to post. My sister in-law Melanie posted this to her blog. Thanks Mel. I needed a good laugh. It just so happens that Saturday evening the t.v. happened to be on. The Lawrence Welk show was airing. It was basically just background noise. Suzy was staring at the t.v. loving the dang show. Finally, Dustin and I realized about the same time that the t.v. was on and together said, "Livy, Turn off the t.v.!" Livy stated, "Oooooo.K. but a... Suzy loves this crap." So this little bit made me laugh my head off. Even better... Livy saw it and laughed so hard she cried. Enjoy!

Happy Birthday to Hannah on October 8th. Hannah turned 9. She had a great day. In the morning Mom brought home croissant Ham and cheese sandwiches and cinnamon rolls for breakfast, yummy. Grandma Lorna made Hannah this yummy pumpkin cake and took Hannah Del Taco (her favorite!) to school and ate lunch with her. Later that night after a yummy dinner that dad made. (Spaghetti and meatballs) She opened her presents and blew out her candles. Notice Hannah's face when her candle re lit its self. On Monday Hannah was able to have family night with Grandpa Nolan, Grandma Kris and Uncle Ryan. She really had a great time. On Sunday Hannah was able to celebrate again with her aunts, uncles and cousins from her dad's side of the family. Thank you Aunt Melissa for hosting such a fun party. Thank you to all whom made Hannah's Birthday Special. Happy Birthday Hannah. WE LOVE YOU!!

We are staying busy! Hannah is busy with Piano, School and Soccer. She is doing awesome in school. She has received 100% on every spelling test so far this year. She is also loving Soccer and doing very well.
Livy has started dance. She is loving it. She is learning Tap, Jazz and Ballet. She gets to go to dance with her best buddy and dear friend Bella. :) Dustin is helping to Ref. Hannah's games as well as other teams with AYSO. He is pretty excited and loving working with Hannah. Baby Suzy is learning how to eat cereal. She is messy. She is pretty cute, too!

Here are some sea shells the girls gathered at the beach and a picture of the jewelry the girls made! :) We had a long drive from Trinidad to San Francisco. Drove over the Golden Gate Bridge again. It was neat because this time it was foggy. Then finally we hoped the plane. All three girls were soooo good. What a fun vacation! :) The End.

The home... vaca continued!

Here are some pictures of the home we are staying in. It is small but so beautiful. We are lucky to stay here. The girls love it. They love playing in the loft. It feels like we are in a very very nice tree house. Out every window there are beautiful trees.We can see the ocean, too. The first morning we saw deer outside.

Mom and Dad get the bedroom, Hannah and Livy are sleeping on a hide-a-way bed in/on the couch and Suzy is sleeping in the little closet. It seems perfect for her. :)

The Car....Day 2 and 3

This is Olivia in our rental car. We stayed in Emeryville, CA at a hotel right outside San Francisco. The next day we drove through San Francisco and showed the kids a few neat things. Olivia found a nickle and wanted to display it in every picture. The girls got salt water taffy in the early afternoon and homemade baby donuts by the bay on the way home. (home to the house we are staying in.) Livy's favorite was the donuts. Hannah enjoyed everything but did say there were too many people and wasn't quite sure she would like to live in San Francisco!! It was a fun drive.

We are about to drive through the Golden Gate Bridge. Livy asks now after every bridge.."Was that the Golden?" The experience was ahhh inspiring hard to put into words. It is so fun to be with the kids and show them some of these historical landmarks and see their reactions.

The Train... Day 1 August 29, 2008

We left for the train very late or shall we say very early August 30th. There are positive and negative points about riding the train. Positive... its not nearly as stressful as riding by plane and checking bags etc. If you aren't in a hurry or if you don't have a schedule. Negative it doesn't stay to a schedule very well. The train was two hours late so we didn't leave until after 1:00 in the morning. (no other options) The kids were so tired. They were excited too. They did very well! Baby Suzy slept all night and the other two did as well. They had fun the next morning exploring the train and looking forward to meals in the dining car. We played games, Suzy took her scheduled naps. The older girls also took a long afternoon nap. (yeah!) The Train took a detour through Feather River Canyon. The canyon was very pretty. We went through several tunnels and across several bridges. If we went downhill Olivia would put both hands in the air. We were tired when we arrived... but all and all we really had fun. Thank you Scotty and Nicole for staying with us in/at the SLC Train Depot. Because it was so late at night the train station in SLC was the scariest part.

Planes, Trains and Automobiles

We are getting ready to go on our Planes, Trains and Automobiles Vacation. (It's actually a trip because we are taking the kids. A vacation is when its only adults.) We are excited!! We are riding the train to San Francisco and driving up to the Redwoods. The pictures of the home that we are staying are posted at the top. Then we are flying home! ;) Trains, auto's and Planes.
We will be staying near
Arcata, a quaint small town, with, many shops and restaurants that surround the town square and Eureka's historic Old Town, 10 miles south of Arcata. A diversity of restaurants, museums, galleries, live theater and music, cinemas, and shopping to be explored. We'll also be staying close to Trinidad.
Trinidad is a beach community of 350 residents and is one of the smallest incorporated towns in California, which overlooks the Pacific Ocean. A public fishing pier, marine lab, incredible beaches, natural history museum, cafes, restaurants, gift shops, a surf shop, and lots more to discover in this quaint fishing village.
We can't wait! The kids are soooo excited. Wish us a fun, safe trip!

A Favorite.... Hard to say. I love Judy Moody! There just aren't enough Judy Moody books. However, I really enjoyed The Benedict Society for different reasons then I loved Fable Haven. Grandma, You should read The Benedict Society. It is interesting and you will fall in love with the characters. After you should read Fable Haven. If you like Harry Potter. You'll like Fable Haven. ENJOY!

Hannah and her busy Summer!

Hannah has had a busy summer. She took swimming lessons, Tennis and Soccer. She did great at all three. She really gained some confidence swimming and is beginning to learn how to dive. She was excited to be a helper for one of Olivia's swimming classes too. Hannah took tennis lessons at the beginning of summer break. Her teacher says she's a natural. She did quite well and last but not least this last week she started Soccer. The boys were fighting to have her on their team. Her team did not win the world cup in the final competition but did very well. Here are some pretty cute pictures.
This past week Olivia climbed up by baby Suzy and said, "Hi little princess!" Hannah exclaimed very loudly, "No more princesses in this house please...What we need are some sports!"

Mom and Dad see John Mayer! Yeah!!

John Mayer was pretty awesome! He was very energetic. He played his popular, "Daughters", "Neon" and "I'm goin' to Find Another You." He also paid tribute to blues-based classic rockers Cream and Tom Petty and jammed out some "Crossroads" and "Free Falling."
While the arrangements were loyal to the originals, they were "Mayerized" with the singer/songwriter's vocal tweakings. Which only made the two songs perfect highlights. Dang talented! He has a Querky sense of humor and is fun to watch! Colbie Callet was fun to see too! Thanks for the fun night out Dust. :)

July 24th, Pioneer Day

Hannah and Olivia spent the day with Grandpa Nolan and Grandma Kris. They dressed up like pioneers, made bread, churned butter,and played pioneer games. They had the best time. Hannah and Olivia loved hearing about the pioneers and the sacrifices they made for us. Dressing up was pretty cool too. Oh and Hannah loved sleeping outside! Thank you for such a fun time!!

Hannah, Olivia, Cousin Kennedy, Grandpa, Dad (Dustin) and Uncle Scott went camping up at Payson Lakes. They really had a good time. They went on little hikes, played in the rafts, road bikes, played chess, and roasted marshmellows. Hannah swam in the middle of the lake. They even saw some bats. Dustin doesn't take a lot of pictures... so this is all we have. We are thankful for these.

Friday night Dustin took me to see Seinfeld at Abbravanel Hall.
Seinfeld's observational comedy covering the basics of everyday life is/was hilarious, and hit close to home for both of us. I laughed so hard my face hurt. He had us laughing hysterically. It was a really fun night. I laugh out loud as I post this because one of Seinfeld's bits made fun of couples that "go out." He says, Everyone thinks they must "go out." It's the in thing to do but as soon as your out you say, "Well, we must go now." We went out. Then we had to go. It was fun!

1) I dislike getting one hand or one foot wet without wanting to get the other one wet too. Getting the other one wet is a must. One hand or foot wet is pure torture.

2) I usually don't walk into work and not get a drink of water or Diet Coke within the first few minutes. I can't focus.

3) I'm a people watcher. I love to do it.

4) I can't do a cartwheel. Please don't make me try.
